Opening May of 1948, Rockford Speedway in Rockford, IL has a good deal of history. For nearly 30 years the National Short Track Championships have been held at Rockford each October. Past winners of the event include guys like Dick Trickle, Joe Shear and Mark Martin. Today Rockford Speedway is part of Nascar's growing family of tracks. Late models and numerous other divisions run here twice a week.
